So tonight my friend and I swam through the swampy streets of Manhattan arriving at the IFC theater soaked to the bone in order to see the story of a one eyed mute warrior aptly named "One Eye". The name was given to him by a young boy who followed him along his journey after One Eye killed his family and clan. The film is not rife with violence and the while some of the scenes are very brutal they are few and far between, most of the movie is filled with haunting landscapes and eerily colored portraits. There seemed to be no clear beginning or ending and the instead of really being told a story the viewer has to figure out for themselves whats going on most of the time but this really lends to the beauty of this movie and adds to the overall enjoyment. If this is playing anywhere near you I would highly recommend checking it out.
